Peripheral Vascular Access Services

Short Peripheral IV



Used for superficial veins. May be inserted using an ultrasound-guided technique. Available sizes range from 18 to 24-gauge catheters in 3/4 to 1 3/4in. Can stay in place for up to 29 days.

Ultrasound Guided Phlebotomy

Phlebomoy collection using an ultrasound-guided technique. Phlebotomy requiring advanced skill for difficult-to-assess veins. Needle and transfer device included. The ordering facility is responsible for providing and processing vacutainer collection tubes.

Long Peripheral IV

Used for superficial or deep veins when a short peripheral IV isn’t long enough. Inserted using an ultrasound-guided technique. Power Injectable. Available in multiple sizes. Can stay in place for up to 29 days.

Inserted using an ultrasound-guided technique. Available in Power Injectable. Available in multiple sizes. Can stay in place for up to 29 days.

Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) Services

Port Access/Deaccess


Port access using a non-coring needle, with CHG dressing. Port access needles available in Power Injectable 19-22 gauge, 3/4 - 1 1/2in length. Port blood draw, heparinization, and decloting services are also available.

Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insertion


Inserted in all care settings utilizing maximum sterile barrier precautions. Available in Power Injectable 5 fr single and double lumen.

Dressing Changes


Sterile dressing changes are available in all care settings, for all central lines. We also perform dressing changes for peripheral vascular access devices as well.
